Mass media is becoming more and more commercialized. Just look at Ted Turner and the absolutely massive conglomerate he owns. Just look at Rupert Murdoch and NewsCorp. Do you honestly think for one New York minute that either one of those two multi-billionaires gives a rat's a$$ about what you think of the content of their many stations and networks? My guess would be: Probably not. They don't care simply because there is just so much to manage and because they make their profits no matter what. They get richer and richer with all of their corporate mergers and buy-outs and takeovers, and they have grown so large and bloated that they have forgotten about the middle man. This is both sides, not liberal or conservative, not Democrat or Republican. Those of you who read my blogs know that I try to avoid both labeling and name-calling, because my parents-in-law are some of the most conservative people I know - and they are Democrats. My state's Republican senator, Arlen Specter, is one of the most liberal politicians I know, except around election time. The same was true of Rick Santorum; now he is out of office, and the son of our now-deceased governor, Robert Casey, another staunch Democrat who votes the party line, is in his place; but I digress...(Read more on the media conglomerates here)
